Yarn Shop Owners

I am looking for a few good shop owners.

What you get as an authorized Knitivity retailer:

  • personalized attention to your needs

  • colorways dyed right here in the United States

  • exclusive-to-your-shop colorways

  • no other shop in your area will be selling my yarns

  • my online customers will learn that you are now stocking Knitivity yarns

How to make it happen
(i.e., the "Fine Print")

  • Must be a brick-and-mortar physical store location with walk-in customers. You may announce the availability of Knitivity yarns via newsletters (online or snailmail) or Web site to your regular customers; sales must occur in person.

  • Minimum order: 50 skeins, in any combination (see New Shop Exception, below)

  • Orders can be in any combination of TYPES -- Socks or Dura-Lace, or any of the Down Home Art Yarns in 100% wool - like 3 sets of sock yarns, 2 of lace, and 5 of sport, just for example.

  • Yarns must be new dye orders from the Socks-Lace page or the Down Home Art Yarns Page. Individual items from the Specials Page will no longer be available; quarterly bulk lots may be made available as announced to all LYS's on a first-come, first-served basis, for those wishing to stock a "bargain bin" or "odd lots sale".

  • Must provide your state resale number.

  • Wholesale pricing for brick-and-mortar walk-in shops: 50% off current full retail at time of order, excluding special online sales pricing.

  • Colorways: must be ordered in multiples of 5 (10, 15, 20, etc. of however few or many colorways you wish)

  • Exclusive colorways: if you order 8 (or more) Knitivity colorways, you can have 2 colorways designed exclusive-to-your-shop. These colorways will not be released to others for a period of 1 year after they are committed to your shop, but they need to be negotiated at the time the qualifying order is placed and will be included in that order, not some time later.

  • All orders are prepaid, and are processed more quickly via PayPal invoicing. (Payments by check require additional time for bank clearing; checks must be drawn on your business account.) Once your account is established, for subsequent orders you will simply email me your completed request, I prepare and send an electronic invoice with estimated current shipping rates based on weight. When it is paid, I will make sure the yarn is acquired, and have it dyed and shipped, normally within 15-20 business days (if there is a delay from the mill, you will be notified). You will be notified when yarn is dyed, and then again when it is shipped.

  • Returns: Returns are allowed for replacement:

if the yarn itself is faulty (broken yarns, too many knots, etc.); individually damaged hanks will be replaced.

if you receive a colorway other than what was ordered

  • Returns not allowed:

  • if the colorway simply appears different from the picture viewed on your computer monitor; strict dye recipes are followed, and individually dyed art yarns always have variations

if the yarn has been used or ball band broken.

New Shop Exceptions:

  • Your shop is a "new shop" if it has been open less than 1 year; these exceptions are designed to help you build inventory as you get your shop established and are not meant to limit you; if you wish to make a full wholesale order, that is fine.

  • You may place your first three orders for a minimum of twenty-five (25) skeins/hanks, rather than the 50 required for established shops. After the first year of business, or after your three initial orders, however, future orders will need to fit the 50 skein minimum.

  • if your combined first 2 or 3 orders equals 8 different colorways, you are entitled to 2 unique and exclusive-to-your-shop colorways that I will not show on the Web. (easy to do -- make 5 colorways in your first order, and then 3 other colorways the next time, and you get your 2 exclusives!)
